Nahant Lions Club
The Dr. Charles L Schepens " Lion Of The Year Award"
for outstanding effort in behalf of "Eye Research" was
established by the Nahant Lions Club in 1992 to honor
Dr. Shepens on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Dr. Schepens had been a member of the Nahant Lions Club
since February 1958. Dr. Schepens, recognised worldwide as the father of modern retinal surgery,founded the Schepens Eye Institute in 1950.
The Nahant Lions Club presents the award to a Lion of District 33N every April.Nominations are accepted by the president of the Nahant Lions Club through January.
